QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), Autism (SV), or Learning Disabilities (SM) Endorsement Additional endorsements will enhance your application Working knowledge of IEP and Special Education documents Ability to manage special education caseload, including conducting IEP meetings Ability to complete IEP forms and monitor compliance in accordance with IDEA and MARSE rules Ability to make accommodations based on individual student data Ability to identify and incorporate strategic and intensive interventions as dictated by individual student data Ability to work with special needs students in an inclusive setting Able to withstand the physical and mental rigors of teaching Possess well-developed problem-solving skills Possess sound, independent judgment, including handling of confidential matters Possess working knowledge of best practice strategies; able to make research-based decisions Ability to collect and analyze data to assess student achievement Ability to provide differentiated instruction for students Possess knowledge of and abide by Michigan Code of Educational Ethics Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with students, parents, and staff Ability to provide and maintain an orderly classroom environment Competency with emerging computer technologies (keyboarding, internet, email) and familiarity with student information systems Pass background check Job description available upon request For further information, please see the attached job posting.
