As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth. Your expertise will help create engaging lesson plans, manage classroom activities, and support students with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities or requiring specialized interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead by example, mentor fellow educators, and make a meaningful difference in children's lives through innovative teaching practices and compassionate care. You must have a teaching certification. Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori or preschool methodologies. Design engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, behavioral therapy techniques, and speech therapy strategies to support diverse learners. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavioral management techniques to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with families, therapists, and special education teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each child's unique needs. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Provide mentorship and ongoing support to teaching assistants and new staff members to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management. Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior reports, lesson plans, and communication logs while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Experience Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or special education settings, preferably within private schools or Montessori environments. Demonstrated expertise in working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges. Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and behavioral therapy techniques. Familiarity with IEP development and implementation as well as experience conducting assessments and standardized testing. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, therapists, and colleagues effectively. Prior experience mentoring fellow educators or leading classroom teams is highly desirable. Knowledge of library services or supplementary educational resources that enhance learning experiences is a plus.
