Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference by bringing your expertise to support students in a thriving educational community near East Lansing, MI. This contract position seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to foster student success and collaborate closely with school staff. Your skills will be essential in creating inclusive education plans and providing tailored instruction that meets diverse learning needs. You'll empower students, build strong relationships with families, and contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment. What's needed: Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher required Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field Experience designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong understanding of a variety of learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and instructional strategies Excellent communication and organizational skills Adaptability and commitment to the success of all learners What you'll be doing: Delivering individualized instruction and classroom support to students with special needs Developing, writing, and monitoring IEPs in partnership with families and other educators Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student goals are met Maintaining accurate records and ongoing documentation Providing direct support, assessment, and advocacy for students Communicating effectively with parents/guardians and participating in IEP meetings Experience a meaningful contract position that puts your skills to work improving lives and shaping futures.
