Special Education Teacher | Flint, Michigan Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Flint, MI Job Details Part-time | Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications School experience Teaching Certification Classroom Teaching Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Embark on a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in Michigan for the 2026-2027 academic year! Multiple opportunities are available to make an impact in classrooms across elementary, middle, and high school settings within urban districts near Flint. As part of a collaborative team, you'll play an essential role in fostering growth and success for students with unique learning needs.
What We're Looking For:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (Learning Disabilities endorsement typically required) Preference for candidates with Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), and/or MDE Early Childhood (ZA) endorsements, or an additional area of special education Experience with self-contained or resource classrooms, ideally with caseloads involving K-12th grade students Comfort working onsite within urban school environments (this is not a virtual position) Capacity to support students in classrooms capped at 22 per class; caseloads may fluctuate according to needs Willingness to provide official university transcripts prior to onboarding
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction in self-contained or resource classroom settings based on individual IEPs Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education requirements Employ strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, colleagues, and service providers Support students with cognitive, emotional, or learning disabilities through differentiated and evidence-based strategies Emphasize social, emotional, and academic growth within a supportive and structured environment
