  • $77, 687 (Based on years of experience and degree) Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.
You will be responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that caters to the unique social, emotional, and academic needs of students with diverse learning abilities. This role involves developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education staff, and fostering a "growth mindset" for every student.
Key Responsibilities IEP Management:
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for a caseload of students, ensuring compliance with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE).
Instruction:
Deliver differentiated instruction in core subjects (Mathematics, ELA) tailored to students' specific goals.
Collaboration:
Act as a lead for IEP meetings and work closely with school psychologists, social workers, and parents.
Progress Monitoring:
Collect data on student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure measurable growth.
Classroom Culture:
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment using trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral interventions (PBIS).
Required Qualifications Certification:
A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement (e.g., LD, ASD, EI, or CI).
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Michigan special education laws.
Soft Skills:
