Job Description

Title:
4th Grade Teacher -
Full-Time Job Summary:
Calvary Schools of Holland invites a dedicated Fourth Grade Teacher to join our close-knit, Christ‑centered elementary team. As an Ambleside member school, we deliver a "Living Education" rooted in the Charlotte Mason philosophy—prioritizing relationship, atmosphere, discipline, and life. You will guide a small class of fourth graders through living books, nature study, and a rich curriculum across academic and artistic disciplines—while fostering strong habits of attention, self‑control, kindness, and wonder. In partnership with parents, you will cultivate an environment where students are deeply known, authentically cared for, and equipped to form meaningful relationships with ideas, their classmates, God's creation, and the Holy Spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
Willing to undergo training and development to effectively implement the Ambleside philosophy in daily teaching. (Provided by Calvary via Ambleside's training model). Teach lessons using living books, not textbooks, to ignite imagination and cultivate deep thinking. Present rich content across subjects including literature, history, nature study, math, Bible, geography, art, music, and handicrafts. Weave biblical truth throughout academic content, not as an add-on but as the framework for understanding. Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback. Create a nurturing environment built on trust, respect, and consistency Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance. Participate in professional development, readings, and mentorship within the school community.
