In this contract position, you'll play a vital role empowering students with visual impairments to access learning and develop essential life skills for future success. Your expertise will guide the way as you deliver individualized instruction and collaborate closely with dedicated school professionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Help build inclusive educational experiences, tailored to each student's needs and abilities, ensuring they reach their fullest potential during the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a full-time, onsite role (37.5 hours per week) with building assignment and district-specific responsibilities to be determined.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Prior experience as a visually impaired educator, supporting students in school settings Valid teaching certification or licensure in special education with a focus on visual impairments Strong knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, and adaptive technology for visually impaired learners Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams and families Commitment to fostering student independence and educational achievement
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, individualized per IEP requirements Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum and instruction Consult with families and school teams to ensure student success Implement adaptive technology and resources that support accessibility Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings This role offers a meaningful chance to support students in thriving academically and personally.
