Job Description

ESY Schedule:
ESY Set-Up Days:
Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30
Student Service Days:
Monday, July 6 to Thursday, August 6, 2026 (Mon-Thurs for a 5 week period).
Daily Times:
Full Day/ Specific Hours To Be Determined Location:
CERC Building Pay:
$40/ Hour Requirements and Qualifications Must have a current, valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in one or more areas of special education endorsement Previous work experience with students with significant disabilities, preferably those with severe learning disabilities, cognitive impairment, severe multiple impairment, autism spectrum disorder and/or emotional impairment CPI certified Willingness to work with other teachers, collaborate and align instructional practice, and coordinate daily instruction between all practitioners Demonstrate proficiency with specialized instructional techniques such as: Facilitating engagement of students and parents/ family/ caregivers in learning activities Providing parent support, consultation and resources to address student needs in the home environment. Continuous use of formative assessments to differentiate and inform instruction Use of explicit instruction, active learning, manipulatives and visual displays to scaffold students' understanding of concepts and numerical relationships Utilizing Universal Designs for Learning (UDL) Implementation of students' individual Positive Behavior Support Plans and universal positive interventions & supports
Progress Monitoring & Reporting Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional and daily lesson/ activity planning to address the individualized
IEP/ ESY
related needs/ goals for each student; Provide specialized instruction to address identified IEP goal areas of concern for each student; Implement student PBSPs and positive behavioral supports as indicated Participate in CPI team responses, as necessary Communicate with school team, providers, parents and community providers to coordinate services and meet student needs Document all services provided, student attendance/ participation and goal/ objective progress monitoring data over the ESY service period Other duties and responsibilities as assigned; and On site presence required.
