FTE R-P Intermediate Technology Teacher Reeths-Puffer Middle School Position Summary:
Reeths-Puffer Intermediate School is seeking a dynamic, future-focused educator to serve as a STEAM Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively while equipping them with the digital literacy and design thinking skills essential for success in an ever-evolving technological world.
Essential Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teaching certificate (K-5, 3-6) (ZG) (ZP). Demonstrated proficiency in integrating technology to enhance student learning. Deep understanding or desire to learn project-based learning, design thinking, and digital citizenship. Ability to create and sustain a positive, student-centered classroom culture. Commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and collaboration with colleagues. Capacity to build strong relationships with students, families, and the broader school community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with computer science fundamentals, various coding platforms and robotics. Familiarity with engineering design processes and makerspace environments. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including AI, cybersecurity, and digital media. Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated STEAM instruction.
Responsibilities Include:
Designing and delivering engaging instruction aligned with both Michigan's standards and national frameworks for technology education. Preparing students to be innovative problem solvers, responsible digital citizens, and capable collaborators. Maintaining a classroom environment that fosters creativity, inquiry, and hands-on exploration. Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction based on individual and group learning needs. Collaborating with other staff to enhance the vision and direction of the district's technology program.
