Full-Time School Year Position Position Summary Reeths-Puffer Schools is seeking a dedicated, student-centered High School Special Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs, fostering academic growth, and creating an inclusive learning environment that encourages student success both academically and socially. Qualifications Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsement(s) Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience working with high school students preferred Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and support personnel CPI training or willingness to obtain preferred Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct instruction to students receiving special education services Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation and compliance requirements Collaborate with general education teachers to support student achievement in inclusive settings Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents and guardians Utilize data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment Participate in professional development and district initiatives Complete service logs and targeted case management for Medicaid billing. Preferred Skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and families Experience with differentiated instruction and behavior intervention strategies Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations for diverse learners Compensation and Benefits Salary and benefits are in accordance with the negotiated master agreement and district policies.
