Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available serving students in grades K-2 at an onsite school location in Redford, MI. This role focuses on providing specialized educational support to young learners with cognitive impairments, helping foster their academic and social development within a structured classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to K-2 students with cognitive impairments Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students' needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and staff Utilize Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques to ensure a safe learning environmentQualifications:
Valid Special Education License with certification in Cognitively Impaired (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement Certification in CPI or willingness to obtain and renew certification annually Experience working with early elementary students in a special education setting preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skillsPosition Details:
