Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract This contract opportunity is for two Special Education Teachers to support K-8 students in a school setting located in Sterling Heights, MI. The role is designed for skilled educators who are passionate about delivering individualized instruction and fostering the growth of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals. Manage a caseload of approximately 10 students per teacher, providing specialized instruction and support. Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the developmental levels and learning styles of students K-8. Maintain detailed records of student progress and modify educational plans as necessary. Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment conducive to student success.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Demonstrated experience working with K-8 students in special education settings. Proficiency in developing and executing IEPs. Strong communication and collaborative skills for working with parents, staff, and students. Ability to manage multiple priorities and caseloads effectively.
