Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a direct impact in a high school setting by supporting students in grades 9 through 12 as a Special Education Teacher. This contract role offers a chance to enrich the educational experience for a classroom of 17-20 students, providing both academic and emotional guidance to help them thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Previous experience working with high school-aged students. Ability to modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with parents, staff, and multidisciplinary teams. A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitoring student progress and making adjustments as necessary. Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction across various subjects in alignment with state and district guidelines. Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure effective inclusion and support for all students. Maintain detailed records and documentation reflecting student goals, progress, and interventions. Provide direct support, accommodations, and modifications to promote student success and independence. Actively participate in IEP meetings, staff development sessions, and school-wide initiatives.
