Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract This full-time Elementary Special Education teaching position in Sterling Heights, MI, offers an immediate start through June 11, 2026. You will work with a self-contained classroom of up to 15 students, supported by two paraprofessionals, focusing on behavior management and toileting assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students with disabilities Manage classroom behaviors and provide support for toileting and daily living skills Collaborate with paraprofessionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state and district standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education required; Master's or Doctoral Degree in Special Education preferred Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement is mandatory Possession of a valid Special Education license; substitute licenses will not be accepted Experience working with diverse student populations is highly desirable

Position based in Sterling Heights, MI, serving an elementary school classroom
