Job Description
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team! This role is all about supporting students' unique learning needs, collaborating with staff and families, and making a meaningful impact every day. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education; Must possess a valid Michigan Teacher Certification with Special Education endorsement; Must possess knowledge and experience in working with IEPs and the IEP process; Must possess the ability to meet the individual needs of students; Must possess knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of performance assessments; Must possess a willingness and ability to work cooperatively on a teaching team; Must possess experience with administering individualized instruction to students in special education and general education as a push-in and pull-out instructor; Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of disabilities and their educational implications; Must possess an understanding of curriculum design and instructional strategies; Must possess an understanding and knowledge of learning theories and child development appropriate for various disabilities; Must possess knowledge of Special Education laws and regulations; Must possess a compassionate and patient approach to working with students; Must possess strong communication and collaboration skills working with students, parents, and colleagues; Must be flexible and able to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs; Must possess effective classroom management and behavior intervention skills; Must possess a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field of special education.
