Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A school in Ypsilanti, MI is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide exceptional educational support to students in grades K-8. These contract positions require professionals with strong experience managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and actively participating in related meetings. Each teacher will be responsible for a caseload of approximately 10 students, ensuring personalized instruction and support tailored to each learner's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Conduct regular meetings with parents, staff, and administration to review student progress Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in grades K-8 Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and compliance with regulations Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and materials Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that meets individual student goals
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with K-8 student populations in special education settings Strong knowledge of federal and state special education laws and guidelines Ability to manage caseload effectively while maintaining thorough documentation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for parent and team collaboration
