Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Discover a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact in a specialized educational setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract role is designed for Special Education professionals who are passionate about supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Located near Minneapolis, MN, this position offers the chance to work with a small, dedicated classroom of approximately 6-10 students in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required) Current endorsement in either ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) Experience working in a Setting 3 classroom or similar environment Strong commitment to fostering student growth and engagement Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with DCD and ASD Provide direct instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies to promote student success Maintain thorough records and data collection for student progress monitoring Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with other educators, paraprofessionals, and specialists within the building
