Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students with visual impairments for the upcoming academic year! This opportunity, based near Minneapolis, will involve working with caseloads of 25-30 students—most with vision disabilities and some with additional needs—in a collaborative, multi-building educational setting. The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek. As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), you'll split your expertise across two to three locations, each serving diverse and inspiring learners. These educational centers primarily serve students facing significant behavioral and physical challenges. Your guidance will be foundational in providing accessible, inclusive instruction and empowering students for success.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Current licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with children who have visual and multiple disabilities Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff Strong organizational skills for managing moderate-to-large caseloads Willingness to travel between multiple school buildings
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum to meet individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and therapists to support tailored student learning Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to facilitate access to curriculum Monitor progress, maintain required documentation, and participate in IEP meetings Provide consultation, resources, and support to school staff and families This contract position welcomes both local and travel candidates eager for a meaningful challenge within a highly supportive and impactful setting.
