Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A center-based behavior program in Saint Francis, MN is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students requiring intensive behavioral interventions and assistance with reintegration into general education settings. This position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and behavior support to a caseload of approximately 10 students primarily in grades 2 through 5, with the possibility of including kindergarten through 5th grade as new students join the program.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instructional and behavioral plans tailored to students' needs within the center-based classroom. Collaborate with a high staff-to-student ratio team, including seven educational assistants, to provide consistent support and maintain a positive learning environment. Support student reintegration by coordinating transitions to mainstream classrooms during the day for many students. Monitor progress, document behavior and academic growth, and communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams regularly. Address the diverse needs of students with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Blind/Visual Impairments (BVI).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education. Valid Minnesota State Licensure in Special Education. Experience working in behavior-focused or center-based special education programs is preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment.
