The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional skills, experience working with children with diverse learning needs, and a passion for fostering academic and social development. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing tailored teaching strategies, and collaborating with staff, parents, and specialists to ensure student success. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while working in a dynamic educational setting. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for grades 1-4, incorporating literacy, math, and other core subjects. Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, or speech and behavioral challenges. Create and manage individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, specialists, and school administrators. Utilize behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to promote positive classroom behavior. Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing results to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Incorporate early intervention strategies and childhood development principles into daily instruction. Manage classroom environment effectively to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning space. Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education practices, curriculum development, and classroom management. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other educators. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification/license for special education grades PreK-12. Experience working with children with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or speech impairments. Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for special education needs across core subjects like literacy education and math. Familiarity with IEP development and implementation processes. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and specialists. Experience with classroom management techniques suitable for diverse learners. Ability to adapt teaching strategies for children requiring behavioral health support or behavioral therapy interventions. Prior experience working in inclusive classrooms or private school settings is advantageous. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports early childhood education principles.
