Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an engaging, supportive school community as a Special Education Teacher in a structured elementary setting near Saint Paul, MN. This rewarding, contract-based role focuses on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth for a small group of 3rd to 5th grade students within a center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom. The assignment runs full-time from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with consistent Monday-Friday hours, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. Your skills will make a daily difference for approximately six students who thrive with effective classroom support. The environment is highly collaborative, allowing you to partner with dedicated staff and contribute to a holistic, structured special education setting.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Possess an active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License EBD licensure is highly valued Previous experience in center-based or high-needs behavioral settings Proficient in creating and implementing IEPs, BIPs, progress monitoring, and classroom interventions Demonstrated strength in classroom management and behavior de-escalation Excel at team collaboration and clear communication
Preferred Skills:
Background in Setting III/center-based classrooms Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, or trauma-informed behavioral interventions Experience handling elementary-level behavioral caseloads
