Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher supporting high school learners with diverse needs. This full-time contract assignment begins at the start of the 2026/2027 academic year and runs through Thanksgiving. You'll be a key player in delivering targeted instruction and interventions, with a particular focus on reading and executive functioning support for students with learning disabilities.
What We're Looking For:
Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License Licensure in Learning Disabilities (LD) is highly valued Demonstrated experience working with high school students in special education roles Strong track record providing reading intervention and executive functioning support Proficiency in IEP implementation, academic accommodations, and progress monitoring Ability to seamlessly integrate with dynamic educational teams Background supporting students with executive functioning deficits a plus Prior experience in high school SPED settings preferred
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and facilitate reading interventions tailored to students with learning disabilities Support executive functioning skill development and offer instructional strategies to foster independence Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive academic and behavioral support Implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions based on ongoing data Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and colleagues Picture yourself impacting students' lives at a vibrant high school environment, where your expertise shapes educational outcomes and your adaptability empowers learners.
