Job Description

Job Summary St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School in Brentwood is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and faith‑filled Full‑Time Learning Consultant to support student achievement and instructional excellence. The Learning Consultant works closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to strengthen teaching and learning through instructional coaching, academic intervention, and data‑informed practices while fostering a safe, inclusive, and Christ‑centered learning environment.
Job Responsibilities Collaborate with classroom teachers to support effective instructional strategies and best practices.
Provide targeted academic support and intervention for individual students and small groups.
Assist with the identification of student learning needs through assessment data and progress monitoring.
Support differentiation and accommodations to meet diverse learner needs.
Serve as a resource for instructional planning, curriculum alignment, and intervention strategies.
Assist in developing and implementing academic support plans.
Participate in classroom observations and provide constructive feedback when appropriate.
Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and support staff to support student success.
Communicate effectively and professionally with teachers, staff, and families as needed.
Support a positive, respectful, and structured learning environment consistent with Catholic values.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school liturgies, and events.
Uphold school policies and actively support the mission of Catholic education.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Valid teaching certification or educational specialist certification preferred (or ability to obtain per diocesan requirements).
Prior classroom teaching experience required.
Experience with academic intervention, instructional coaching, or learning support preferred.
Strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze student data and apply findings to instructional support.
Commitment to student‑centered learning and academic excellence.
Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and respect Catholic teachings and traditions.
