Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Shape young lives and make a lasting difference as a Special Education Teacher in a rewarding contract position beginning August 2026 through May 2027. Multiple opportunities are available across grade levels due to increased needs, serving vibrant students near Liberty, MO, in an engaging, in-person school setting. You'll have the chance to work in a variety of classroom environments, such as elementary self-contained classrooms supporting students with essential skills needs, or partner in co-teaching roles as a Resource Teacher at the middle and high school levels. If you're passionate about fostering inclusive learning and skilled at adapting instruction for diverse learners, this is an excellent opportunity to put your expertise into action. What you'll need: Active Special Education Teacher license in Missouri, or current full licensure in another state with eligibility in MO (pending considered) Experience working in K-12 special education settings, ideally in both self-contained and resource/co-teaching environments Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with fellow educators and families Commitment to in-person instruction Key responsibilities: Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs to meet student goals Deliver differentiated instruction aligned with students' abilities and needs Collaborate with classroom teachers to support students in general education settings Maintain clear communication with families, support staff, and service providers Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment You'll benefit from the stability of a full academic year contract, professional growth as part of a dynamic school community, and the opportunity to impact a wide range of students.
