Summary Teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning. • Provide planned instruction with written lesson plans according to the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), individual needs, interests, and abilities for qualifying students.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and materials, consistent with the needs and abilities of the student groups involved.
• Implement and monitor goals on IEP.
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents/guardian concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
• Collaborate with other staff members to meet the holistic needs of assigned students and in planning and implementing the instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Evaluate and write evaluation reports and IEPs for each student upon referral and continuously throughout their program.
• Maintain accurate, complete records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
• Supervise and coordinate the duties of the paraprofessional assigned to the classroom or students, if applicable.
