Job Description

Lift For Life Academy is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You would be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programs, and instruction for special needs students in an integrated setting in consultation with other school personnel; Identify the needs of the assigned student(s) through formal and informal assessments; review referral data, history, and assessment data to develop appropriate goals and objectives for each student; confer with general education teachers regarding educational, social, emotional, and physical needs and objectives of each student. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Teaching certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience in classroom management and lesson planning
  • Strong background in literacy education and math instruction
  • Experience working with students with special needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and behavior management techniques
  • Familiarity with learning technology to enhance teaching practices
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Knowledge of behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis techniques
  • Experience in tutoring and mentoring students
