Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Child Care Works Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting the eligibility and enrollment processes for families, child care providers and employers participating in the Child Care Works (CCW) program. The Specialist serves as a liaison between families, child care providers, employers and program administrators to ensure access to affordable, high-quality child care. This position involves case management, compliance monitoring, customer service, and administrative tasks.
Evaluation:
The Vice President of Early Childhood and Family Development, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Child Care Works Specialist.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or higher in early childhood education, child and family development, or a related field; Minimum of 2 years of experience in social services, case management, or early childhood programs; Must have a strong understanding of confidentiality and data privacy standards; Must complete Missouri Family Care Safety Register and federal fingerprint background check. Possess necessary job-related knowledge, positive interpersonal skills, organized, motivated, enthusiastic, good time manager, self-disciplined, independent decision maker, and good networking abilities; Must have cultural competence when working with diverse populations; Excellent presentation skills and the ability to speak to a variety of group sizes with business leaders and community members; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Computer literate with internet and Microsoft Office-Word experience; Ability to travel throughout southwest Missouri; Ability to lift, push or pull 35 lbs.; Willing to work a flexible schedule, evening and weekend work is required; History of regular attendance; Adhere to CPO's mission and core values; Ability to work as a member of a team; Must have a valid driver's license.
Essential Functions:
Must be knowledgeable about child care and the child care business model; Must be knowledgeable about child care subsidy and other state programing related to child care; Efficiently schedule appointments with families, employers and child care business owners/directors; Provide high-quality customer service at all times; Develop partnerships and maintain strong relationships with child care providers and community agencies to assist families in navigating the Child Care Works application process and accessing appropriate child care referrals; Use professional judgment at all times; Maintain records as dictated by the State of Missouri, Office of Childhood, Kids Win Missouri; Accept and apply feedback from supervisors related to performance and customer interactions; Adapt quickly to changes in processes or procedures as directed by leadership, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation; Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practice as related to Child Care Works and overall professional growth; Submit monthly reports to supervisor; Maintain an awareness of community services available and make referrals as needed; Maintain confidentiality at all times; Implement changing grant requirements; Regularly communicate in person, via written email, and on the phone in a professional manner. Participate in CPO's resource development/fundraising activities; Driving is an essential job function of this job position; Other duties as assigned.
Reporting Structure:
The Child Care Works Specialist reports to the VP of Early Childhood and Family Development of Community Partnership of the Ozarks.
Position Clarification:
The position of Child Care Works Specialist is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. The job duties are subject to change, based on the funding requirements. This is a non-exempt, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
