DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Psychology endorsement from the Montana Office of Public Instruction. Valid Montana driver's license. As a condition of employment, applicant will submit to a finger background investigation to determine if he or she has been convicted of certain criminal or drug offenses. Knowledge of and ability to explain special education services, rules and regulations. Work effectively with timelines, numerous contacts and the necessity of accuracy. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Effectivelymunicate in writing and orally to staff. Make rmendations regarding outside counseling sources. Counsel parents as to how to most effectively deal with their child's specific behavioral and emotional needs. Ability to handle stressful situations.REPORTS TO

Responsible for providing psycho-educational services to referred students. Assess ability and intellectual functioning, social emotional status and adaptive behavior. Writeprehensive, multi-disciplinary evaluation and re-evaluation reports. Provide interpretation of academic and psychological testing to special education staff, parents and students. Participate in multi-disciplinary referral meetings. Determine appropriate placement with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the development of IEPs. Serve as a liaison/consultant forIDEA/504
meetings and provides information regarding learning style, classroom management, and behavior modification to enhance student achievement. Provide confidential information to the teacher/principal when deemed to be in the student's best interest. Make rmendations regarding outside counseling sources. Counsel parents as to how to most effectively deal with their child's specific behavioral and emotional needs. Assist in Child Find testing activities as necessary Document parent contact, counseling sessions, and classroom interventions. Participate in vocational planning for special education students. Remain current on and ensurepliance with state and federal special education laws regulations. Select, store, issue, and inventory equipment, materials, and supplies used in education program. Assume other duties as may be assigned by the superintendent. Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions may be required as given or assigned.
