Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Burlington, NC, offering the opportunity to support K-12 students with diverse learning needs. This contract role requires dedicated educators to manage either self-contained or resource caseloads, delivering individualized support to help students achieve their academic and developmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Provide instruction and support in both self-contained and resource settings, adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience. Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth, independence, and social-emotional development.
Qualifications:
Valid North Carolina Special Education Teacher credentials. Experience managing K-12 caseloads with IEP development and execution. Strong knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies. Ability to perform all general Special Education Teacher duties with professionalism and dedication.
