CTE College & Career Readiness Lab Teacher Camden Middle School Reports to: PrincipalPurpose:
Paxton Patterson College & Career Readiness Labs provide hands-on, STEM-focused learning environments designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in fields such as healthcare, engineering, construction, IT, and more. These labs offer interactive, self-paced curriculum modules that engage students in real-world problem-solving and technical skill development. By integrating career exploration with practical experience, Paxton Patterson equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in both college and the workforce.Qualifications:
Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a NC Teaching License in any CTE licensure area.Required Degree Level:

Facilitate learning using the Paxton Patterson College & Career Ready Lab curriculum & activities. (Required Training from Paxton-Patterson) Provides the bridge all students need to address major societal issues such as work-and-family, health care, child and elder care, family and community violence and crime, global economics and politics, and technology use. Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses, and hands-on workshops Assist in the development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program Develop community and industry partnerships for students Communicate effectively and regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming projects. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-based committees as required. Adhere to district policies, procedures, and the North Carolina Code of Ethics for Educators. Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Camden County Schools. Other duties as assigned by the administration. Minimum Standards Required toPerform Essential Job Functions:
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to use various equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers, calculators, pencils, scissors, and equipment for students with special needs, etc. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Due to the time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for light work.Data Conception:
Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or composite characteristics (similar to or divergent from evident standards) of data, people, or things.Interpersonal Communication:

Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form; and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Verbal Aptitude:
The ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow oral and written instructions. Must communicate effectively and efficiently in various technical or professional languages, including medical, legal, and counseling terminology.Numerical Aptitude:
Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas, add and subtract, multiply and divide, utilize decimals and percentages, and apply the principles of descriptive statistics, statistical inference, and statistical theory.Form/Spatial Aptitude:
Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape.Motor Coordination:
Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately when using office equipment.Manual Dexterity:
Requires handling various items, including office equipment and hand tools. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.Color Discrimination:
Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.Interpersonal Temperament:
Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing effectively under stress and in emergency situations.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of visual arts content, instructional strategies, and North Carolina visual arts standards. Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage middle school students in creative expression and learning. Skilled in classroom management and fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient in integrating technology into instruction and artistic creation. Ability to assess student learning and use data to inform instruction. Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to school culture and team efforts. Understanding of adolescent development and the social-emotional needs of middle school learners.
