Key Responsibilites:

Provide direct and consultative instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse communication and learning needs Utilize communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), total communication, or auditory-verbal approaches Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and families Conduct assessments, track student progress, and maintain accurate documentation Support use of assistive technology and hearing devices in the classroom Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field Active North Carolina Professional Educator's License DHH (Deaf & Hard of Hearing) endorsement through NCDPI Prior school-based or pediatric experience working with hearing-impaired students Knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and special education best practices Why Join ESS Clinical?
