Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Columbia, NC, serving a dynamic school environment dedicated to supporting young learners with special needs. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and individualized support to children in early childhood programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student in the early childhood special education caseload. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other educators, to support comprehensive student development. Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies to promote growth and achievement. Support families by providing guidance, resources, and progress updates regarding their child's educational journey. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with federal and state special education regulations.
Qualifications:
Valid state certification in Special Education with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education. Experience working with early childhood special education students, preferably in a school setting. Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and early intervention strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and staff. Ability to manage a full-time caseload and coordinate services within a collaborative team environment.
