Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A school district in Halifax, NC is seeking four Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. These full-time, onsite positions focus on providing Exceptional Children (EC) Resource teaching support across elementary, middle, and high school levels. The contract runs from July 27, 2026, to July 2, 2027, with a schedule of 35 hours per week.

Qualifications and Experience:
Valid North Carolina state certification in Exceptional Children (EC) teaching Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in resource roles Ability to support diverse student needs within elementary, middle, or high school settings Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instructional support and interventions for students with exceptional learning needs Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Maintain thorough documentation and communicate regularly with parents and staff Participate in school meetings and professional development activities as required This opportunity provides meaningful work with a supportive school community dedicated to special education.
