Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location:
Fayetteville, NC Pay:
$35/hour - $55/hour & dependent on experience Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a collaborative, student-centered school team in the Fayetteville, North Carolina area. This in-person role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments through individualized instruction and specialized educational services.

Full-time Key Responsibilities:
Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments Interpret ophthalmological and medical eye reports as they relate to educational access Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs Recommend and coordinate specialized evaluations, including low vision, orientation and mobility, adaptive physical education, and psychosocial assessments Consult with classroom teachers, diagnosticians, families, and related service providers regarding instructional strategies, accommodations, and testing modifications Provide direct instruction in Braille and other specialized skills as appropriate Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in compliance with state and school requirements
Qualifications:
Masters degree from an accredited institution (preferred) Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification or licensure (required) Experience working with children and adolescents in a school-based setting, particularly students with special needs Strong collaboration and communication skills
