Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a K-8 school setting near Greensboro, NC. Multiple openings are available for dedicated educators ready to make an immediate impact for the 2026/2027 academic year. These positions focus on both inclusion and resource roles, with caseloads typically ranging from 15-20 students and a maximum of 25. The school is also launching a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program, giving new staff a chance to support students with innovative tools and strategies. Many learners are currently performing about three grade levels below expected benchmarks, making a positive, patient, and adaptive approach essential to student success. Qualifications And Experience Must hold a valid North Carolina General Curriculum K-12 certification. Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in elementary or middle school, or strong practicum/internship experience in similar settings. Knowledgeable in inclusion and resource models for special education. Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, and adapting instruction for diverse learning needs. Passion for cultivating social-emotional growth and integrating SEL programming. Strong classroom management, organization, and communication abilities. Key Responsibilities Deliver differentiated instruction to K-8 students identified for special education services (inclusion & resource). Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate student integration and success. Participate in the rollout and ongoing development of the SEL program. Maintain accurate records, monitor student progress, and adjust strategies as needed. Foster a supportive and positive classroom environment.
