Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Join a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in Halifax, NC, working onsite within public schools dedicated to serving exceptional children from elementary through high school levels. This role spans from July 27, 2026, through July 2, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. This opportunity consists of four positions across diverse grade levels: Two positions supporting elementary EC resource classrooms One position for middle school EC resource instruction One position serving high school EC resource needs Responsibilities include delivering tailored instruction and support for students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with classroom teachers and related service providers, and contributing to a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Qualified candidates should possess:
North Carolina certification in Exceptional Children (EC) teaching Experience working with EC students across various educational levels Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff A commitment to fostering inclusive practices and individual student progress This role requires full onsite attendance; virtual or remote options are not available.
