Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a supportive and collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity focuses on working one-on-one and in small settings to deliver educational services to two elementary-aged students—one in third grade with significant visual impairments, and a fourth grader requiring ongoing VI support while wearing corrective lenses. You'll be instrumental in helping these students build critical skills for both academic and personal success. This is a guaranteed 4-hour per week role, with a balance of 3 hours of direct student service and 1 hour dedicated to IEP-related responsibilities. Flexible licensing requirements mean applicants holding out-of-state certification are encouraged to apply.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or in vision-related educational support Valid teaching certification (flexible state requirements) Strong understanding of IEP development and documentation Compassionate, individualized approach to student learning Effective communication skills with educators, administrators, and families Commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering classroom environment
