Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity involves working as a Teacher for students who are visually impaired, based in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The role is contract-based and requires the ability to serve potentially multiple school locations within the county, depending on student enrollment. The caseload is very small, allowing focus on individualized support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Valid North Carolina teaching license, preferably in Special Education or Elementary/Secondary Education. Completion of a specialized visual impairment licensure program is mandatory. Experience teaching visually impaired students is preferred. Strictly no VOCO (video conferencing only) candidates.
Location and Work Environment:
Based in Jacksonville, NC with possible assignments to multiple county schools. Contracted employment through ProCare Therapy, assigned directly to the local school district.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments. Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student's needs. Collaborate with district staff and families to ensure comprehensive support. Travel among school sites within the county as required by student placements. This position offers a meaningful role supporting visually impaired students with a manageable caseload in an engaging educational setting.
