Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time opportunity is available for experienced Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students across a school district in Jacksonville, NC. This contract position involves providing specialized instruction and services as an itinerant teacher, traveling throughout the district to meet the needs of visually impaired students.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with valid credentials Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Ability to develop and implement individualized instruction and educational plans Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff Flexibility and willingness to travel within the district as an itinerant teacher Open to candidates from out of state and ready to interview promptly
Role Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to visually impaired students across multiple schools Assess student needs and design tailored learning approaches to enhance academic success Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to ensure accessibility Maintain accurate records and progress reports for each student served Participate in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities
Location:
