Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Empower students to reach their fullest potential by making a difference as a teacher specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) and Visually Impaired (TVI) education. This exciting contract opportunity welcomes educators passionate about providing exceptional support and instruction to students with unique learning needs. Located near Lillington, NC, this role offers flexibility with both part-time and full-time possibilities, depending on your desired commitment and expertise in DHH and/or TVI.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and/or Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience working with students with sensory impairments in educational settings Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), accessibility, and adaptive teaching methods Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff Responsibilities include: Providing direct instruction tailored to students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired Developing and implementing IEPs to support each student's learning goals Utilizing specialized equipment, technology, and teaching materials to ensure full participation Consulting with classroom teachers to facilitate classroom inclusion and appropriate accommodations Assessing student progress and maintaining detailed records Engaging parents and guardians in the educational process, offering guidance and support as needed This unique opportunity provides flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to shape your contract to fit your skills and lifestyle.
