Schedule:
Full-time, school-based Position Overview Birch Agency is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to support students in school-based settings in Lincolnton, North Carolina . These opportunities offer educators the chance to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized academic, behavioral, and developmental support to students with diverse learning needs. Current openings are available in both elementary and high school separate settings , supporting students on extended content standards within highly supportive classroom environments. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals and educational needs. Provide differentiated instruction to students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs. Deliver specialized instruction in separate classroom settings supporting students on extended content standards. Manage a classroom caseload of approximately 8 students with support from 2 teacher assistants . Implement positive behavior supports and effective classroom management strategies. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, and multidisciplinary team discussions. Adapt instructional materials and strategies to support individualized learning and functional skill development. Foster a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student achievement and independence. Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Special Education or related field preferred Active North Carolina Special Education teaching certification required (or ability to obtain through reciprocity/provisional pathways). Experience working with students with moderate/severe disabilities or extended content standards preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills. Passion for supporting students with diverse educational and behavioral needs. Ability to maintain compliance timelines and accurate educational documentation. Work Environment School-based setting with opportunities in both elementary and high school separate classrooms . Small classroom environment with approximately 8 students and 2 teacher assistants per classroom . Collaborative team environment with support from administrators and related service providers.
