Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching license in Special Education, or eligibility to obtain certification in North Carolina Classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a school setting Strong knowledge of IEP development, goal setting, and progress monitoring for students with diverse needs Commitment to creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment Effective collaboration skills with teachers, support staff, and families to address student needs Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for students with special needs in compliance with IEPs Develop lesson plans that promote both academic and social growth Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to adapt the curriculum Monitor and track student progress, making timely adjustments to instruction as needed Communicate regularly with parents or guardians, providing updates on student achievements and challenges Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and ongoing professional development
