Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference every day as an ELA Inclusion Teacher specializing in special education at an innovative academy near Littleton, NC. Step into a dynamic, collaborative environment and help foster growth and achievement for students requiring exceptional support. This is a full-time, onsite contract position scheduled to begin as soon as possible and continue through July 2, 2027, with no extended school year duties.
Key Qualifications:
Current NC state Exceptional Children (EC) teaching credentials required Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in an inclusion or ELA setting Strong understanding of IEP preparation and implementation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset Comfort working onsite in classroom settings, providing direct service to students Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Commitment to supporting academic and social-emotional growth for all learners
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver ELA curriculum collaboratively within inclusive classrooms to meet a variety of student needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal law Work closely with general education and support staff to create a welcoming, enriching environment Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families Participate in team meetings and professional development to continually enhance instructional practice Advocate for students' needs and provide ongoing support to ensure their educational success
