Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference every day by supporting students in a dynamic middle school environment located just north of Winston-Salem and a short drive from Greensboro. We are looking for two Special Education Teachers who are passionate about helping each learner achieve their potential. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise within both a General Curriculum classroom and an Adaptive Curriculum classroom.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on federal, state, and district guidelines Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student learning and growth Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet diverse learning needs Monitor and document student progress, providing timely feedback and adjusting plans as necessary Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and self-advocacy Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions
Qualifications:
State certification in Special Education required Experience working in a middle school setting preferred Knowledge of both general and adaptive curriculum strategies Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Commitment to meeting the unique needs of every student Step into a welcoming educational community where your skills and dedication will be valued, and where you can grow both personally and professionally.
