Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in Nebraska starting August 2026 and continuing through May 2027. This position is perfect for an educator passionate about making a difference in the lives of K-5 learners while bringing expertise and energy to a single school assignment.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active Special Education Certification valid in Nebraska. Classroom experience in special education, ideally with elementary-aged students (K-5). Strong understanding of adapting curriculum and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Excellent communication skills for collaboration with general educators, specialists, and parents. Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive classroom where all students feel valued and motivated. Organized, flexible, and dedicated to promoting student growth and independence.
Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students requiring special education services. Create, implement, and track IEPs in close partnership with the multi-disciplinary team. Modify general curriculum as needed to meet students' diverse learning needs. Assess students' progress and adjust interventions and supports appropriately. Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers on student goals, challenges, and progress. Participate in meetings, professional development, and school activities as required. Serve as an advocate for inclusion and maintain a positive, growth-oriented classroom environment.
