Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position as an Elementary K-5 Special Education teacher in Nebraska, where your expertise and compassion will help shape lives during the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact in a supportive educational environment while collaborating with a dedicated team. Your role will focus on delivering high-quality instructional support and individualized learning plans to elementary students in a single school assignment. You'll work 35-40 hours per week, engaging with students, families, and staff to foster academic progress and positive development.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Active Special Education Certification in Nebraska Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher at the elementary level strongly preferred Comprehensive knowledge of K-5 curriculum and best practices in individualized instruction Excellent communication skills, collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs Strong organizational skills to manage IEPs and student documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to elementary students in special education programs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure student success Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques to meet diverse needs Track and report students' progress, adjusting educational plans as necessary Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities This contract position offers an excellent way to grow professionally and help foster a positive learning environment.
