Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in Nebraska for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is in an elementary school setting, guiding and supporting K-5 students with diverse learning needs. You'll have the chance to make a lasting impact by fostering a supportive and inclusive environment as you partner with a dedicated faculty. The assignment runs from August 2026 to May 2027, with a commitment of 35-40 hours per week at a single school.
Qualifications:
Active Special Education Certification for Nebraska is required Prior experience teaching elementary-aged students is strongly preferred In-depth understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Ability to adapt instruction and materials to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, support staff, and families Strong organizational and time management abilities
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and specialized interventions to K-5 students in accordance with their IEPs Collaborate with general education staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively implemented Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and progress reports Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate that supports academic, social, and emotional growth Partner with parents and guardians to keep them informed and engaged This position promises a rewarding experience as you empower young learners and collaborate with a supportive school community.
