Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact on the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary or middle school resource setting. This contract opportunity extends from August 13, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering a rewarding experience supporting students' growth and success in Bellevue, NE. The position is fully onsite and involves serving diverse learners in engaging resource classrooms, with multiple openings at both the elementary and middle school levels.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Nebraska Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain) Experience working in elementary and/or middle school resource classrooms Passion for supporting diverse learners and implementing effective accommodations Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families Ability to develop and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction for students with varying educational needs in resource classrooms Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages each student's academic and social growth Engage with parents, therapists, and other support personnel to ensure comprehensive student support Employ a variety of instructional strategies to address individualized needs and learning styles Track student progress and maintain accurate, detailed documentation as required
