Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by supporting their learning and communication needs in a welcoming K-12 environment. This contract position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, working onsite with a dedicated school district. You'll provide critical educational services and guide students toward achieving their fullest potential. What you'll bring: Licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (in Nebraska, or eligibility for NE certification) Experience teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school-based setting is preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication strategies for DHH students Ability to collaborate with students, staff, and families to create accessible, engaging learning experiences Strong communication and organizational skills Your responsibilities will include: Delivering direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in grades K-12 Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student's needs Collaborating with classroom teachers, interpreters, and related service providers Creating and adapting materials and lessons to ensure access and inclusivity Monitoring student progress and conducting assessments Participating in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences As part of this assignment, enjoy a consistent weekday schedule for the duration of the academic year.
