Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in Nebraska for the 2026-2027 school year. What We're Looking For:
Active Special Education Certification in Nebraska Experience working with elementary (K-5) students in special education settings Ability to build rapport with children, families, and school staff Strong communication, collaboration, and teaching skills Commitment to individualized, student-centered support
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to meet IEP goals Assess academic and behavioral needs of students and document progress Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate varied learning styles Foster an encouraging, inclusive classroom atmosphere Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing team planning Maintain accurate records and comply with state and district requirements
